About

Mia Lidofsky created, directed, and co-wrote the comedy series STRANGERS, in partnership with Refinery29 and Beachside Films. The series premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was the U.S. Centerpiece Film at Outfest 2017. STRANGERS is now live on Facebook’s new platform “Watch.”

Former assistant to director Jesse Peretz, Mia spent years on various sets with him, most notably two seasons on HBO’s GIRLS. She went on to join forces with Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner to help produce the initial phase of HBO’s SUITED, a documentary about LGBT- friendly tailors, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.

Mia cut her teeth directing music videos while working for Beachside Films as a producer and development executive, and was selected for the 2015 AFI Directing Workshop for Women, through which she directed the pilot episode of STRANGERS. Mia and her partner Celia Rowlson-Hall co-directed the viral #PantsuitPower video, dedicated to HRC, which garnered over 5 million views.

Lidofsky is currently developing Season Two of STRANGERS for Facebook.
